Eric Dargan leads Texas chapter of American Public Works Association

Eric DarganHouston Public Works Deputy Director Eric Dargan was elected as the president of the Texas Chapter of the American Public Works Association. As Deputy Director and Chief Operating Officer, Dargan leads the Capital Projects, Transportation and Drainage, and Houston Water operational service lines for the Public Works Department.

The American Public Works Association (APWA) is a not-for-profit, international educational and professional association of public agencies, private sector companies, and individuals dedicated to providing high quality public works goods and services. APWA serves its members by promoting professional excellence and public awareness through education, advocacy and the exchange of knowledge. The American Public Works Association serves its members by promoting professional excellence and public awareness through education, advocacy and the exchange of knowledge.

The Texas Chapter is the largest Chapter (1500+) members of the 29,000 member American Public Works Association.  The professional association (APWA) and the Texas Chapter exist to promote the value of public works, to provide education for the public works professional, and to create a professional network for members.
