Houston Water earns awards from statewide conference

Houston Public Works' Houston Water earned numerous awards at the Texas Section of the American Water Works Association conference in April. 

 Professional Awards:

Mohammed Siddiqui - Outstanding Operator of the Year

Hui Zeng – Laboratory Excellence

Shannon Dunne - Southeast Section Recruitment

Hector Montanez - Susan B. Hier Excellence in Education and Licensing

Dudley Hall, Tomas Martinez, Alberto Romo, Roland Mendoza - Houston Northwest WWTP Municipal TP of the year

Tomas Martinez, Mohammed Siddiqui, Guadalupe Arevelo, Daffy Burroughs, Wesley Barfield, Nathan Figueroa, Joseph Knotts, Jose Mendoza, Pedro Munive, McClain Murray, Emmit Vaughn, James Ware, Rickey Wolfe – Courageous Service Award for 69th Street during Harvey

 Operations Challenge:

Tanya Nickerson – 1st place woman’s pipe cutting exhibition

Hector Montanez – judge of the year

Houston Bayou City Brawlers – 2nd place Victaulic exhibition (pipe tree) (division I)

Houston Bayou City Brawlers – 3rd electrical control panel exhibition (division I)

W2O (woman’s team) – 1st place process control (division II)

 In addition to the awards listed above DHJ Houston Water team won the TOP OPS completion and will represent the TXAWWA Section during June at the national conference in Denver. This is their second win in two years.
