Historical Preservation Office earns award for Heights design guidelines

pic hist awardThe City of Houston Planning & Development Department was among 19 agencies  awarded the 2019 Preservation Texas Honor Award for their efforts to save irreplaceable and authentic historic places in Texas. 

The award recipients were honored on February 27 at an awards ceremony and dinner in Austin TX. P&D's Historic Preservation Office was recognized for their work on the Houston Heights Historic Districts Design Guidelines for three Houston Heights Historic Districts. These guidelines will go a long way in protecting and preserving the cultural heritage in the Houston Heights. 

Steph McDougal and Matthew Kriegl received the Preservation Texas Award for Historic Preservation District Design Guidelines.
