The Texas chapter of the Solid Waste Association of America conference was held in Houston March 24-27 at NRG Park. The City of Houston Solid Waste Department served as host city for the conference, which invites hundreds of solid waste managment professionals from all over the state.
The TxSWANA conference gives solid waste professionals an opportunity to network, view state-of-the-art equipment, showcase professional contributions and to share data and findings, lessons learned, innovative ideas and raise challenging questions. The conference kicked off with a golf tournament at Gus Wortham Golf Course and tours of facilities such as the FCC materials recovery facility and CompuCycle.
Breakout sessions covered a variety of topics ranging from safety, outreach education and public enagement, landfill gasses, recycling markets and fire prevention.
