Independence Heights is one of Houston’s oldest communities. Houston resident Randy Tims wanted to share a recent development he had with Bennie Chambers III, a planner with the City of Houston Planning and Development Department: 

Dear Mayor Turner, 

The purpose of this letter is to commend your staff member, Bennie Chambers, for the excellent service he provided in helping with an issue for me and my neighbors who reside in Independence Heights. He demonstrated knowledge, kindness and professionalism addressing our concerns about a minimum lot size application approved years ago.  

He went over and beyond to aid and understand that reassured our confidence in the public service sector. Mr. chamber truly deserves to be recognized and rewarded for his exceptional customer service. He is an asset to the City of Houston.
