Rebekah Williams and Alexandra Smith work for the City of Houston in the Ceremonial Documents section. They work very hard to provide certificates and proclamations to thousands of residents, and they do it with a smile every day.
While it might be considered a thankless job, one Houston resident wanted to take an opportunity to highlight these two hardworking individuals. Kenneth Hall recently wrote this message to Mayor Sylvester Turner:
Mayor Turner,
I picked up the mayoral proclamation for my mother-in-law, Zelma Randle, earlier today. June 7, 2023, her 87th birthday, will be Zelma Randle Day in Houston.
I cannot thank you and your staff enough for doing that!
She has been beset by some health challenges in the last few years, including impaired cognition. She is the mother of 11 and has overcome some seemingly insurmountable obstacles to become a beautiful human being. We love her dearly.
I just wanted to offer you my sincere thanks and gratitude, sir.
May the Lord shine His glorious light in and through you and bless you and yours richly.
Best to you, sir,
Kenneth Hall
