The squeaky wheel gets the grease

The adage, “The squeaky wheel gets the grease” was never more evident for one Houston resident trying to get their water services restored.

Jamie Amin wrote to the mayor’s office to commend Kelvin Moore, a Houston Public Works supervisor, for his efforts in ensuring the situation was resolved in a favorable manner. Here is what was written:

Dear Mr. Moore,

I am delighted to express my appreciation and gratitude to you and your team of workers for diligently and efficiently managing to heal some of my hardships with the water outbreak. I suffered for almost two weeks at my residence.

You went far beyond the call of duty to bring some resolution to this major crisis I encountered.

Even though many other City of Houston employees, supervisors and the call center staff were constantly being notified, they all literally failed their duty in reaching out to bring me relief.

Not to mention, they were incorrectly documenting the nature and source of the water damages instead of recording wrong diagnosis even when they were told the problem was resolved numerous times.

I am writing this humble thank you for being the only person who listened to me when need the most help with this situation.

Thank you.

Yours sincerely,

Jamie Amin
