A Houston couple pitched in as volunteers to help with the city’s Jan. 9 vaccination event at Minute Maid Park. They not only helped the event result in the successful vaccination of thousands of residents, they left with a new appreciation of the COH organizers’ professionalism and expertise.
Greg Schroder wrote to the Mayor’s Office to say how impressed he was with Health Department personnel and City of Houston employees
“First, I would like to thank and congratulate you on the vaccination event at Minute Maid Park on January 9th,” he wrote. “My wife and I volunteered there through our affiliation with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and we were simply overwhelmed at the professionalism, kindness and all-around greatness of the City of Houston personnel. In particular, Valerie Bergeron and Cydney Cameron did fantastic jobs (those were the two we interacted with), but honestly, everyone was great.
“I also want to give a note of recognition to a gentleman named Evys Flores, who works on the COVID-19 hotline. He's been extremely helpful when it comes to information regarding follow-up shots, etc. We really appreciate his assistance!
“Congratulations and thank you! I'm a native Houstonian and couldn't be prouder of my city!”
