Speeding motorists along Chimney Rock Road in the Galleria area were plaguing residents and pedestrians, so they contacted HPD to request help. And they were more than satisfied with the result.

Resident Henry de La Garza wrote to Mayor Turner’s office to express their appreciation for HPD’s action.

“I am writing to call attention to the Houston Police Department's Radar Squad with the Traffic Enforcement Division,” he wrote.

“Radar Officers Reggie Gilbert and Dudley Breaux conducted radar stops in July along the 200 block of Chimney Rock Road. My neighbors and I are thankful to these officers and Sergeant Ray A. Gonzales for their attention to our continuing requests for random radar stops which have been conducted.

Speeding continues to pose a serious risk to the safety of families residing on our stretch of Chimney Rock Road, a residential street that has become a major thoroughfare.

The Radar Squad has caused some motorists to at least think twice before exceeding the speed limit through our neighborhood and paying the price.”

Mr. de La Garza specifically cited officers Ryan Bates, Dudley Breaux, Javier Calvillo, Brian Cheng, Matt Davis, Andrew Egras, Reggie Gilbert, Sergeant Ray A. Gonzales, Jaime Guijon, Andrew Hashimi, Charles Hightower, Tuan Le, Aaron Richberg, Marco Rodriguez, Louis Romano, Dudley Sanders and Luis Velasquez.

“My neighbors and I want to express my personal appreciation and thank you for these fine police officers and the Houston Police Department under your leadership,” de La Garza.

“Enough can not be said to express our appreciation for the outstanding efforts on our behalf by the traffic Enforcement Division.”
