Houston resident Dana D. Wells needed help with a problem with a sewer line in her neighborhood. Houston Public Works’ response made quite an impression.
“Shout out to @HouPublicWorks Sonya Anderson & Andrew Brooks for coming to fix our sewer line in record time!” Wells wrote to the Inwood Homeowners Association and on Facebook. “I logged this ticket at 1 p.m. today. They were here at 4 p.m. Thank you Gary Fondel for helping me create a rapid action plan and for letting me know the mainline break is scheduled for repair in July!”
After that initial post, Wells updated the situation: “Sonya & Andrew's truck ran out of the water treatment solution, so they immediately called Damon Mitchell & Cedric Dillard to finish the job. They ALSO came in record time. In less than ONE HOUR! Great Job Everyone!”
She also had high praise for Houston Health’s Shivam Patel, who followed up on the ticket she had open and inspected the sewer line.
“The Health Department is concerned with our safety and makes sure the action plan is in place with a timeline to get the main line repaired. GREAT JOB!” she wrote.
“I have high standards and I am extremely impressed!” Wells added.
