Richard A. DiLisi wrote to Houston Fire Chief Sam Peña to express his gratitude for the emergency medical care he received from Emergency Medical Technicians Mark Combs and David Lindstrom. DiLisi became dizzy and fainted at Houston International Airport .

"In addition to their excellent medical care, I was particularly impressed by the professionalism, compassion and teamwork exhibited by these two gentlemen while tending to my medical emergency ...  both Emergency Medical Technicians quickly realized what was required for me to reverse my condition. Most importantly, they went above and beyond the call of duty in their efforts to notify my family and keep my family apprised of my status throughout the more emergent aspects of my ordeal ... Through the efforts of Mark Combs and David Lindstrom, I did not suffer a more catastrophic injury. The City of Houston is blessed to have dedicated EMTs like Mark Combs and David Lindstrom. I was certainly blessed to have come under their care."
