Jay Geppert, a Dallas resident and former Houstonian visitng home for the holidays, wrote to Mayor Turner to share his impressions about an EMS crew who responded to a cardiac arrest at a Memorial Area Spec's liquor store.  HFD employees on the scene included Captain Thomas Rodriguez, Captain Stacey Holley, Engine Operators Marcellus Aaron and Phillip Aiken, Firefighters Raymond Garcia and Michael Vargas and Wilson Rivas.

"I needed to write to express the manner in which I was impressed with the folks and response of the Houston Fire Department. They showed up pretty quick and immediately tried to help this gentleman as very best they could. I was very impressed by the professionalism, knowledge, teamwork, coordination and the 100 percent effort they gave to save this guy. They worked on him on the ground for about 20 or 25 minutes then got him into the ambulance … still working on him. The City of Houston is blessed to have/foster such an amazing group. Thank you to all first responders for what you all do."
