Mark S. Mucasey wrote to Mayor Turner to thank Permitting Center employees for completing the requirements for an expedited permit on an "impossible" timeline. Here's what he had to say:
"As Architect Of Record for ta seniors' apartment renovation, I have been closely involved with Albert Raymondl, Luis Vilasana, and the entire Building Permit Department, in the expedition of the permit for our project. Our client had almost impossible constraints placed on him by HUD and other tax credit authorities, requiring a Closing by HUD next week. The project was first submitted on November 8, with only hopes that the impossible would happen.
"... With your help, and the help of everyone on staff, including Kumar Arya and Ahmed Ghaley in Traffic; Nick Parker, Kim Bowie, and Hector Rodriguez in Planning; and Melanie Chow and Michael Lauck in Structural, this afternoon I purchased and picked up our permit. Each one of the staff members I mention above was extremely helpful, to say the least. Each one, understanding the constraints, went above and beyond to meet our impossible goal. Their attitudes were amazing, and each one should be commended on how they successfully represent our city.
"This experience has been a wonderful example of how the Building Permit division, when challenged, can really come together and meet its citizens’ needs in a big way. I cannot thank you and your staff enough for helping us in our goal to give this good city another great renovation and seniors facility that we are proposing."
