Steve Haren wrote to Mayor Turner to recognize customer service he received from Houston Public Works Houston Water's Pat Fears. Haren made a clerical error when he set up bank draft auto-pay for his water bill, which led to cancellation of service.
“The email bills which I received were ignored because I thought that I had the water bill set up on bank draft. After a year of not paying, my water was rightly cut off,” Hears wrote. “Pat Fears from the water department not only took an e-payment, but also took the time to setup my account on bank draft. She was extremely helpful and understanding. How she kept from bursting out into uncontrollable laughter, I’ll never know. I thought that you should know about Ms. Fears. If you have an opportunity, please let her know that I appreciate service.
“I would also like to thank you for your service to the community. My wife and I retired and moved to Houston three weeks before Harvey. Under your leadership, I saw the city services at their finest. Police, Fire, Sanitation were all exemplary,” You also made the City shine during the big freeze this Winter. Your authorization to allow police patrol units to pickup and transport homeless to shelters was wonderful.”
