Police Chief’s Youth Police Advisory Council now accepting applications

HPD Youth CouncilThe Houston Police Department invites Houston area high school students to apply for the 2020-2021 Youth Police Advisory Council.

Students will address issues affecting youth and the community, participate in community service projects and attend youth leadership conferences throughout the state.

The YPAC meets regularly with Chief of Police Art Acevedo other top HPD officials.

YPAC members are required to meet five times during the school year at the HPD Edward A. Thomas Building at 1200 Travis in downtown Houston.

Created in 1997 by Chief of Police, C. O. Bradford, it was the first of its kind in the nation.

YPAC aims to promote trust and understanding between HPD and youth.
