Houston Public Works has been in the press a lot over the past several months. One Houston resident, Leyla Howard, took a moment to write to the Mayor’s Advisor for Constituent Engagement Office about her experience with HPW Customer Service Supervisor Dara Lewis, HPW Inspector Glen Chinnery, and a subcontractor with DG Medina Construction.

This is what she wrote in an email:

Good day!

I wanted to take the time to say thank you to the three individuals who helped resolve an extremely frustrating matter.

Many of us use our time to file complaints and grievances but don't provide the same courtesy to those who help resolve those same grievances.

I wanted to give a "shout out" to three individuals who showed me the utmost courtesy and professionalism to help me.

Dara, Glenn and Raul (with DG Medina Construction) are the three individuals who were great at opening the lines of communication. They provided me a means to reach out to them and answered my calls when I think some were even on their day off (ahem, Dara).

They were all kind, understanding of the situation, and most of all patient in letting me vent my grievances.

They went above and beyond to make sure that my concerns were resolved in a timely manner.  Thank you all!

Regards,

Leyla Howard
