“High 5 for CMC” and high 5 to YOU for your continuous generosity to the City of Houston’s employee giving campaign! Your donations to the nonprofit organizations registered with the CMC mean everything to their efforts in the communities we live and serve – efforts to transform the lives of our most vulnerable neighbors to college-bound students to our favorite four-legged friends.
Thank you! Thank you for being the best part of the CMC, integral to our progress and success. During my tenure as mayor of the City of Houston, we have raised almost $8 million! And despite all the challenges, from Hurricane Harvey to COVID-19 and social distancing for two of my eight years as mayor, you upheld your focus and continued to support the causes near and dear to you.
This year, we are challenging employees to sign up to donate $5 per paycheck through payroll. Think of it as giving up one fancy coffee drink or fast-food meal every two weeks. It’s not a big ask, but it means so much to the agencies that help make our community stronger. We could exceed raising $2M if every employee gave just $5 a paycheck. Our “High 5” champions will be recognized for stepping up and giving a “High 5 for CMC.”
As my time as Executive Officer winds down, I encourage you to continue giving and supporting your colleagues’ various fundraisers throughout the city. It has been my pleasure to be part of such an impactful endeavor for the city of Houston, led by you, our esteemed employee donors.
