C.A.S.E.Y. Initiative
The C.A.S.E.Y Club Program builds strong partnerships with area high schools in underrepresented communities and; with the community colleges that offer a Fire/EMT curriculum. C.A.S.E.Y club members will participate in the following activities:
Mentor Meetings
4 to 5 mentor meetings during the school year at participating schools
Training Facility
Virtual visit tour of the Val Jahnke Training Facility
Community
Volunteer initiatives throughout the community
Ambassadors
Ambassadors for HFD’s Anti-Bullying Campaign

The scholarship winners are selected by an essay contest, physical test, grade point average requirement and other criteria.
Cultivate Advise Strengthen Empower our Youth
The candidates who take part in the “C.A.S.E.Y Club Program” are more likely to be successful in completing the process of becoming a Houston Firefighter/EMT.
The program will build self-esteem, social and behavioral skills, encourage and foster students to be good citizens and great role models amongst their peers.
Members may also:
• Take charge of their careers and future
• Earn C.A.S.E.Y Fire Ops giveaways
• Be eligible for Fire and EMS School funds/scholarships
• Become a member of a Firefighting and EMS family
• Go on exciting field trips and attend day camp
• Earn valuable volunteer hours and experience
