The City of Houston Health and Wellness Program was selected as a finalist in the Houston Business Journal’s Houston’s Healthiest Employer Award in the category for “Extra Large Employers” (5,000 or more total employees).
The awards honor Houston-area companies that have committed to making wellness a priority for their employees. Employers are scored on an assessment of an online survey given by Springbuk Health Analytics System. Scores are based on six categories: Culture and leadership commitment, foundational components, strategic planning, communications and marketing, programming and interventions, reporting and analytics.
The city earned this designation with other distinguished employers such as Baylor College of Medicine, BP, Chevron, Harris Health System and more. Earning this designation was made possible, in part by employees who improved their overall health and wellbeing by participating in various Health and Wellness Programs.
