Michael Stern wrote to Mayor Sylvester Turner to share his appreciation for City of Houston building inspectors. Here's what he had to say:

"My home flooded during Harvey, as did so many, and I am rebuilding. During this process I have met several of the City of Houston Building Inspectors. I wish I had recorded all of their names but I only have two names:  Alejandro Villarreal and Tim Small from the Pubic Works and Engineering department. They, and the others, have been outstanding in their efforts to insure that we rebuild properly and safely.

"These men are wonderful ambassadors of a well-run and caring city government. They are patient, knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I must admit I was at first surprised at just how nice they were. This includes the electrical and plumbing inspectors whose names I did not save. Mr. Villarreal and Mr. Small have shown consideration and concern for our plight as flood victims. They, and the other inspectors, have made every effort to inform us as to the reasons we have to do what we have to do to comply with the new codes. They seem more like 'advisors' than inspectors as they perform their task of checking for building code compliance.

"These professionals make me especially proud to be a Houstonian. You should be proud to have such men working to rebuild Houston and making it the best city in the United States."
