Sometimes it’s the little things that make a big impression. Kelly Penrod wrote to Mayor Sylvester Turner to recognize two Solid Waste Management employees whose attention to detail did not go unnoticed. The employees were a Mr. Brown and Mr. Page whose first names have not been identified.
“These went above and beyond their duty today. I’m guessing a huge bag of leaves spilled on to the street. Instead of leaving them there, they stopped, got out of the garbage truck, swept them into a trash can, and loaded it onto their truck.
“This simple 10 minute act of caring for a neighborhood they serve goes unnoticed many times. I’m bringing this to your attention so that their service is acknowledged. We need more people like Mr. Brown and Mr. Page who understand this basic principle of belonging to a community.”
