Camille Jones expressed her gratiude to HPL librarian Sara Karow for offering an easy solution to stop a lengthy "reply all" employee email chain. A broadcast email was sent to determine access to a particular outlook mailbox, which prompted a flood of 'reply all' emails to everyone on the list.
"After I had received approximately 148 'reply all' messages, Sara sent an email 'Fast Fix Tip' which gave instructions on how to move the items directly to the delete folder. This actually stopped the problem as the “reply all’s” went to a drizzle, and then just completely stopped," Jones wrote.
"There is a saying, I’m not sure of the exact wording, but it goes something like this: You are either part of the solution or you are part of the problem. Sara was the only one that tried to be a solution and not add to the problem. My inbox was being inundated by comments that added to the problem, so I greatly appreciated what Ms. Karow did. I think she should be recognized by the city, as it affected the productivity of many city employees. In addition, if employees read the article it may make them think twice before hitting the 'reply all' button."
