When HPD Officer Lahar heard that Houston resident Alexis and her three kids lost everything in the Tax Day flood, he knew he had to do something to help.

After organizing a collection of basic necessities within his division of HPD, Lahar learned that Alexis’ situation was more serious than he first thought; Alexis had lost all of the furniture she had bought just before the flood.

Bi-Rite Furniture stepped up and donated furniture, including bunk beds for her three kids.

Bi-Rite Furniture and HPD made the special delivery on May 13, and set the furniture up in her apartment, which is still in need of repair.

In addition, the Houston Police Officers' Union provided a donation to Alexis and her family to help them get back on their feet.
