Aaron Laws visited HFD EMTs and paramedics from Stations 83 and 69, C and D shift in April, to thank them for saving his life on Thanksgiving morning.
Laws had recently received a lifesaving heart transplant and was eagerly looking forward to celebrating Thanksgiving. That morning, he stopped breathing in front of his wife, LaTonya. She started chest compressions and called 9-1-1, and continued CPR with help from the 9-1-1 telecommunicator. HFD rushed to the scene, continued CPR, advanced to life support until he regained a pulse. Laws recovered from the cardiac arrest at the hospital.
